Vegan Trainers answers one question the shops make surprisingly hard: is this trainer actually free of animal materials?
The problem is that vegan versions of popular trainers are almost never labelled vegan. They are just the colourways that happen to be made of textile instead of leather, sitting under the same model name as the leather ones. Searching the word "vegan" misses them. Reading every product page by hand takes an evening.
So we do that reading for you, per colourway, using the material data retailers are legally required to publish, and we cross-check it against the product description to catch the animal materials the main label is allowed to leave off. When you buy through a link here, the retailer may pay us a small commission. It never changes the price you pay, and it never changes a verdict. A shoe with leather in it is listed as containing leather whether or not we earn anything from it, because a vegan finder that shaded the truth for a commission would be worthless.
We currently check Nike, New Balance and ASICS colourways stocked at the retailers we work with. That is a real slice of what exists, not all of it, and we would rather tell you that plainly than pretend to be complete. Coverage grows as we add retailers.
